I was a graphic designer for many years (in advertising doing work predominately for Nike). After I semi retired I took up “direct” painting which is very different from graphic art. I have been painting about 2 years now. It has been a wonderful journey thus far, with plenty of ups and downs. I have read that most people quit oil painting within the first year. I understand why. It is frustrating. I credit a member here at 43things with helping me through the time where I was tempted to put down the brush and chuck the whole idea. She “cheered” me right when I needed cheering! I’m glad I found this place!
